Summers Ending But the Fun Isn't Over

Just because the calendar is inching closer to back-to-school season doesn’t mean summer’s over—especially not here in Brevard County. Our beaches are still buzzing, the water is warm, and the local real estate market? Still just as hot as our sunny afternoons.

Summers Ending Activities in Brevard

Enjoy the last days of summer in our gorgeous community! Here are 5 things to do before Summer ends:

  1. Shopping Spree at The Avenue - Back to School Shopping is always so much fun (not for the bank account though lol). The Avenue has some local boutiques and national go-to’s. Wind down at any of the delicious restaurants (some of my faves include Pizza Gallery & Ford’s Garage) and even catch a movie at the AMC theatre. Just watched the new Jurassic World: Rebirth movie and Superman, both were fun to watch in theaters! This August, the Avenue is also hosting “Sunny Days” every Wednesday!

  2. Beaches - Beach days are always the best on the Space Coast! Lounge on the chairs, play in the water, and stroll along the coast. Another idea is to have a date night picnic at the beach; the Space Coast is known for their gorgeous sunsets! So romantic!

  3. Visit the Kennedy Space Center - Get the learning started with the newest Bus Tour "The Gantry at LC-39", which features a four story building with interactive model rocket engines, dynamic lights and more! This new must-see is included with admission.

  4. Go to a Local Farmer’s Market - The Brevard County Farmer’s Market is held on Thursdays from 3 - 6 PM, Downtown Melbourne Saturdays 10 AM - 2 PM,, Eau Gallie Square Saturdays from 9 AM - 2 PM, and Rockledge Gardens throughout the week from 10 AM - 4 PM. Special Event: Intracoastal Brewing Co. is hosting their Sunday Market August 10th from 12 - 4 PM.

  5. Head Downtown for Food & Festival Celebrations - Downtown Melbourne is hot with fun, food, and festivals! Experience The Flavor Experience of Paris this Summer on August 15th and Woodstock Pub Crawl August 23rd.

REAL ESTATE TALK

for sellers

Even as school approaches, the real estate momentum continues. Families relocating to Florida or switching school zones are still actively looking. Here’s why listing now makes sense:

  • Homes show beautifully in summer light, enhancing curb appeal

  • Longer daylight hours mean more flexible showing times

  • Summer visitors become fall buyers: Out-of-towners exploring now often return ready to buy

And remember: many homes in Brevard are second homes or investment properties. That buyer pool doesn’t slow down in August.

for buyers

Looking to plant roots before the next season? There’s no need to wait:

  • Less competition as some buyers pause for school transitions

  • Flexible sellers hoping to close before the end of summer

  • Plenty of opportunities in waterfront homes, townhomes, and family-friendly neighborhoods

Plus, let’s be honest moving into your new home in summer means backyard BBQs, beach days, and sunset porch lounging from day one.

for locals

Even if you’re not planning to move, summer is the perfect time to love where you live. Consider:

  • Upgrading that backyard patio

  • Adding a splash pad or outdoor shower

  • Refreshing landscaping for a tropical oasis vibe

  • Installing a new HVAC or smart thermostat before the fall rush

These updates aren’t just lifestyle perks—they’re also value boosters if you ever decide to sell.
